Choosing a facility for a loved one seems like one of the hardest decisions to make in life. In the first place, just the decision that that is in the best interest of the individual and the family would be very difficult, but then making sure it is the right one that will give your relative the care and attention needed, is a very stressful decision. When 30 percent of nursing homes have been cited for abuse, you really don’t want to find your loved one in the care of people who don’t put your family member at the top of their mission statement.
Not that this database gets it right in every instance (as some of the comments below it seem to indicate), but it may help you narrow your search faster by avoiding some facilities that just don’t make the grade.
