Richard graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah in 1974 with a bachelor’s of science degree in political science. He then attended the College of Law at the University of Utah, graduating with his Juris Doctorate degree in 1977.
Between 1978 and 2000, Richard was a personal injury defense attorney for a number of major insurers, including State Farm, Farmers, TransAmerica, and Home Insurance. In 2007, he was named one of the “Utah Legal Elite” by Utah Business Magazine.
Richard’s personal interests include his family, golf, hunting, gardening, reading, travel, and University of Utah sports.
