James Mouritsen, J.D.

Jim graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Utah in 1989 before earning his Juris Doctorate at California Western in San Diego in 1991.

After passing the Utah State Bar examination, he worked for a personal injury law firm in Salt Lake City for three years before moving to Seattle, where he worked in the land use division of the city attorney's office.

In 2003, he returned to Utah to work for the Utah Environmental Congress – a non-profit environmental group with oversight over the National Forest lands.

Jim enjoys spending time with his three sons, creative writing (including several screenplays and a novel), biking, and hiking.
