John Fay, J.D.

Personal Injury Attorney John Fay practices law in Utah and California litigating, mediating and arbitrating cases involving car accidents, truck accidents, negligence injury, and wrongful death.

John graduated from Merrimack College (Andover, Massachusetts)  in 1968 with a bachelor’s of science in Finance.  He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Western State University’s School of Law (San Diego, California) in 1977. 

John is an experienced litigator in both judge and jury trials. He has been associated with Tesch, Thompson & Fay and Siegfried & Jensen as Trial Counsel. He has served as a past president of the Utah Trial Lawyers Association (2005 – 2006) and has been on the Board of Governors for 15 years. He was the recipient of the 1995 Outstanding Service Award by the Utah Trial Lawyers Association and received the coveted ‘BV’ Martindale-Hubbell Rating, which ranks him ‘high to very high’ in legal ability and expertise.  In 2007, he was named one of the “Utah Legal Elite” by Utah Business Magazine. John is a renowned lecturer and author in the fields of personal injury and trial work.  His published works include Arbitrating Personal Injury Claims (John Wiley & Son Law Books, 1992) and The Insurance Settlement Handbook (Chapter 20); Minimizing Damages in Personal Injury Cases (James Publishing Group, 1993).

He enjoys spending time with his wife, reading and writing.  As a runner, John has completed many marathons, including two Boston Marathons, and has accumulated nearly 70,000 miles in his lifetime.
